ODBC links in Info 1

I have set up ODBC links for SQL access on all my report servers. The links were set under System DSN and not User DSN. The reports that use the link only seem to work when a user is logged on to the network on the report server. I thought that the system DSN worked regardless of whether a machine was looged on or off?
Any ideas?

Cheers

Steve

Hey Steve,

I'm a little fuzzy here.. not quite sure what's up...
Were the reports created using a User DSN ?

ODBC & ME.... here's how I cope.....

Report Designer,(report creation),use ODBC system DSN, with SA password.

Job Server, ODBC system DSN, with EXACTLY the same information contained in the designer ODBC connection, includeing "case". (Check that CAPS LOCK key).

Just a thought..

Nuffsaid.

Hey there Nuffsaid

I think your idea about the reports being created with the user DSN is correct. I have tried creating new reports and checking old ones, and they seem to run ok now.

Cheers!

Steve
