I did this last night. If you have Cold Fusion Professional installed on Windows 2000, then goto Control Panel / Settings/ DataSources (it might not be in this exact order for Windows 2000, but you're looking for the ODBC icon).
After you click it, move to the tab "System DSN". Click Add, and give a name for the datasource that you'll later use in your code as <cfquery datasource="DSNAME">. Next click on the Select button to specify the physical location of the database.
