We have about 30 applications and ODBC installed all over place for accessing database.
Trying to use SQL 2005 snapshots which is great however when users use ODBC and i rebuild snapshot we get errors with disconnects because the spid in sql has been removed.
Anyone know of a way to prevent this.
Example i use ms access, cognos open database then rebuild snapshot (basically removes all open connections in sql)
When user hits f5 to refresh data they get disconnect error so basically have to come out of app and back in.
Any suggestions.
Is there a way to do ODBC Farm i.e sql 1 database down go to SQL 2 database without having errors.
Thanks
