Does anybody knows about the following error?

ODBC Error: SQLSTATE = S1000, Native error code = -4896
The chunk offset is too big(Btrieve Error 103)

It happens when i try to open a table in PCC, the problem is when i add field of type longvarbinay or longcharvar even if the fields are empty, if i remove such fields the table opens fine.

Any idea how can this be solved.

Thanks in advance,

note: I am running PervasiveSQL 2000i SP4

Thanks again,

Are you adding the field after the table is created? What happens if you create a brand new table with the LongVarChar/LongVarBinary. What happens if you add a record? Does the 103 go away? info@mirtheil.com

hi mirtheil, thank you for answering my question,
i added the fields after the table was created.
i did create a new brand table with fields of the LongVarChar/LongVarBinary type and it worked fine.
So this means that I have to recreate the table from scratch?

thank you
