Hi all,

I just installed a new network card (has static internet ip address) to sql-server 2000 which already had another network card set intranet ip address.

From the client end (locally) we can connect to the server using old ip address (intranet) but we cant connect using other network card. But we can ping that network card. Not sure if I have to change setup in sql-server?

Please help me here!

Where can you ping the new card from, internet or locally?
More, you can connect from the internet or what? Is there a firewall that prevents access to the SQL port? ________________________________________________________________________________

Thanks every one,

It's just matter of restarting the sql-server. I installed network card and enabled it after sql-server starts. sqlserver did not detect that card when it was loading up. I needed to restart the service to detect the card.

Thanks everyone!
