ODBC Error message

I took a course in Crystal Reports but thats it.
I am trying to create a new report and i am getting an error message
i do the following in Crystal Reports 8.5 using Pervasive SQL V8:

File/New - create a blank report
go to ODBC and go to the location where the DB's are.
click on the two DB's that i need
once i click on close i get the following error message

ODBC error: [pervasive][odbc client interface][lna][pervasive][odbc engine interface]driver not capable.

I click on OK and i get to link the DB's.

not sure if this will cause a problem down the road or not.

Any one have a clue as to why i am getting this error message?

if more information is need i will gladly supply what i can.

i am not a SQL or DB person, so i know very little about this stuff. some one suggested that maybe the driver is corrupted, how would i know if it is corrupted and what driver is it, where is it located and what driver to replce it and how to go about to replace it? Or is it something else?

i know all these questions, but i have no clue as to where to go and what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Try accessing your database via the DDF files instead. If you are set on using ODBC, check to see that your database is not set to read-only.

@BEVer69, Actually using ODBC does use the DDFs. Anytime you don't use the Btrieve API, you are using the DDFs with Pervasive.

I don't think the message you are getting is anything to be concerned with if the report is working. It's possible (and probable), that Crystal Reports is trying to make an ODBC v3 connection while the PSQL ODBC dirver for v9 and earlier is only ODBC v2.5.

I will be back with another question if you don't mind, I just have to do some checking on my reports. the one that i am creating is not working with the parameters and i just want to confirm that i am doing it correctly.
