ODBC error - Column not found/specified - CR 8.5

I am getting the following error when I am trying to suppress the detail portion of a report using Crystal Reports version 8.5 connect to a Progress 9.1b database with a merant 3.6 driver

"ODBC error [DataDirect Technologies][ODBC PROGRESS driver][PROGRESS]Column not found/specified (7520)"

The report displays fine when I display the details but I would prefer to drill down into the details rather than have them displayed. Thanks,
