Hi
we have a sco unix server with some bespoke odbc engine software running. In fact it is provided by Sage and is called Multisoft. The odbc install provides an engine and schemas, users of the accounts package can pull off reports to Excel.
The windows95 ODBC driver installed is provided by multisoft with the following keywords
DRIVER={multisoft}
DSN=[NAME OF OUR DATA SOURCE]
When we try to test the connection we get the following
Host name 0 not found sockErr 1104
in fact this error results in MSquery. The ODBC32 error is "cannot verify dsn do you want to save data source"
the services file c:\windows\ has been edited to provided a socket namely msengine 602/tcp
Also on the unix server in /etc so we are using port 602 to connect.
We also have a hosts file and can use tcp to connect on ip address or name of server.
Any help much appreciated
Simon.
