I spent an hour today trying to find an ODBC driver that will allow me to link an XML data file to an MS Access database for a single workstation. The only driver I can find is from DataDirect. And, I can only find it in a 5-pack for over $600.

Does anyone else produce an inexpensive ODBC driver that can read XML?

keenanbr,

Thanks, but ODBC2XML converts into XML as opposed to reading it.

Ingresman,

Thanks, that link shows me I am not alone. His solution is OLEDB. OLEDB requires a program or script to retrieve the data. With ODBC I can simply link the XML so that it appears as a table within the MDB, making it available to non-programmers through the MS Access GUI and also to Crytal Reports.

I guess DataDirect has to only ODBC solution out there.

I called Programmers Paradise and apparently they can sell individual seats for $200, although you have to ask for it on the phone.

Thanks agian. If anyone else stumbles across alternatives I would still like to know about them.
