Hi I am new to The Btrieve database.. and I want to access this from my windows [ asp or jsp] or from unix.

As I am really new, i wanted to know, where can i get the ODBC Driver for this old version ?

I tried searching pervasive, but it seems, there is no support for that version ?

Any kind of help is welcome.

Btrieve v6.15 server engine (NT/NetWare) came with an ODBC driver but that ODBC driver (v2.04) is not thread safe and is not a good fit for web access. There also is no ODBC driver for UNIX. I would recommend upgrading to Pervasive.SQL 2000. It's the current version of Btrieve and includes a much better ODBC driver that is thread safe along with better SQL support. A trial version of Pervasive.SQL 2000 is available on Pervasive's web site ( mirtheil@mirtheil.com

Hey you can get the 2.04 driver at ftp://suppsaleserver.primavera.com/odbc. And it works fine for most Btrieve applications. There seams to be no need to upgrade to Pervasive 2000i unless there is a performance issue, where you have more than 10 users hitting your database at one time. ( you didnt really say how you are applying Btrieve)

I have to respectfully disagree. I've always recommended upgrading to the latest version of Pervasive. Btrieve v6.15 was a good thing when it was new but it's now 7 years later and while it may run today, it may just stop at some point. In addition, as I've said before, ODBC v2.04 is not thread safe and you're not going to get good performance if you're ASP/IIS web server is hanging because of a crashed ODBC driver.
