I have installed Oracle 8i on a workstation as a client. I also use crystal reports for reporting and I would like to do reports for the 8i database and also a 7.3.5 database that we have here, but when I try to set up the ODBC for 7.3.5 it gets a "code 126" error and the driver will not run when I choose it (Oracle73 ver 2.5) I've tried the "Microsoft for Oracle", and "Oracle 7" drivers also, but they all give an error.

Is it impossible to link to 8i and 7.3.5 on the same machine? Its like when I installed 8i, the 7.3.5 driver was killed and won't work. I tried copying the .dll file to the correct directory and this made the driver name, path, and version appear in the "Select a new driver" dialogue box, but it still didn't work.

Any suggestions?

Did you install both versions of the Oracle client to two separate directories? I have 8.1.7 and 7.3.4 on my machine and have no problems except remembering to keep my TNSNAMES.ORA file updated in both directories. I also have CR developer on here and I can run reports from either version of the database. Terry M. Hoey

No, I don't have both versions of the client...maybe I'll try that.

Thanks.
