ODBC Data Source Error Message

I recently upgraded from MS Excel 97 to Excel 2000. On randum occasions, but still rather frequently, the system will start the "Windows Installer" and sometimes ask for a program disk when I start a Microsoft Program. The disk it asks for is usually not for the program I am actually launching. For example, I might launch Outlook and the Installer will ask for the MS Access 2000 disk.

Whether it asks for a program disk or not and whether or not I insert the appropriate program disk, I eventually get the message:

"Error 1919. Error configuring ODBC data source MS Access Data Base. ODBC error 6 component not found in registry."

Once I tell the program to ignor this error message, the same one comes up for dBAse, Excel and Visual FoxPro. Once I ignor all of them the MS program will load and I can continue. The MS program will then run, but is this creating some problems?

What do I need to do to resolve this problem.

Thank you

It sounds to me like you installed some of the Excel 2000 add-ins such as the small business manager.

If you reload office setup, you can change the options that Excel installed.
