I have multiple reports build with CR pulling data from a view in Pervasive. I am able to open the compiled report on any of our servers and also I am able to open the .exe when using Terminal services. However, when I try to open the compiled report .exe file on any of the workstations I get an error "Physical Database not Found" anyone have any ideas on this one?

Hi,

I have a couple of suggestions:

Do you have the Pervasive client intalled on the workstation?

Are you accessing the data via DSN? Is the DSN set up on the client? If you are, do you have the network share mapped on the workstation?

Are you accessing the data via a DSN-less connection? Are you using the actual server name or the IP address to get at the data?

Are you using Pervasive ODBC to access the data or are you using Transoft or Merant or something else to get at the data?

Does the workstation/user have permissions to access the server?

You can switch on ODBC tracing on the workstation - there may be something in there that can point you in the right direction.

I'm told that this lin kis very useful when it comes to CR and connecting to databases:

Best of luck,
Tom

I do have the pervasive client installed on the WS

I am accessing the data via DSN and when tested, it shows successful

I do have the network share mapped to the server

I am using the Pervesive ODBC

The users do have access to the server.

I have reviewed the support pages at CR. They recommend using Dependency Walker to check the dependencies on the P2SMIN.dll. When run I show error on every WS, however I get no errors when run on a server with the client installed. Yet the dependencies that show missing on the WS do not exist on the servers.

Do you have access to the pervasive monitor? You can use it to see if there is any activity between the client and the server.

When I run Pervasive Monitor I do not see any distinctive connections for the WS. However I do have multiple 'Anonymous' connections.

If you look in the SQL part of the monitor you might get the user id - failing that you should be able to get the IP address from the anonymous entry
