I attempted to add a system DSN ODBC connection. This connection requires an SQL login and password. I successfully added ODBC connections to several other computers. For some reason, this one will not accept the ODBC. Once I get past the login and password area and click okay, I get a login failure message. I am thinking there must be a permission issue here but I am not aware of any reason why I would be disallowed an ODBC conncetion set up. You need only the ability to connect to the server using a login and password.

Any thoughts. I know this is a wierd issue because ODBC set ups are generally routine.

Can you log onto SQL Server itself with the login/password you are using?

Is there a firewall between your client machine and the server with SQL Server?
