ODBC Connection that can be changed through code.

I am wondering if anyone has some code that will allow me to have my root directory change, and still be able to locate my ODBC data source. Basically I need to have my code do a search for what drive the file is on and then connect and update when the file is opened. I would apreciate any ideas.
