Hi freinds

Crystal reports - 8.5
MS Access 2000 Database

Everything was working well when I connected the Crystal report directly to the Microsoft Access database (without using DSNs). When one opens the report in Visual linking expert it shows all tables linked and most importantly it shows all the indexes of the respective tables high lighted pointers in different colours. Ideal situation working well.

The moment I change the report to look at the same database , but via an ODBC link (Named Data Source) and then look at the visual linking expert then it shows all the links in tact but it dont show any of the table indexes at all. It seems to be loosing this information somhow.

Because of this loss of index information when i run the report from my VB program passing different selection criteria it wont work properly.

I need to be able to use DSN linking in my crystal reports and still get the same functionality as previosly. because with DSN's one neednt bother about the actual physical location of the database.

Any help/ ides or suggestion to help me resolve the problem will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Rajeev

It's working as designed - native connections show the indexes, ODBC connections normally do not. This is a good thing, as it allows you to link ODBC tables without being forced to used the indexes (native connections force you to link to an index).
