I asked another related question, but I am also curious about how I can see who is connected to my database via ODBC. Anyone know?

Hi,

onstat -g ntu (global network information) shows information based on connection nettype. You may use the command below, assuming you have soctcp nettype connection for ODBC:

onstat -g ntu | grep "soctcp sqlexec"

Thanks! Thats what I am looking for...one more question on the subject if you dont mind: is this connection info logged anywhere? So if I wanted to see who and when someone was connected using odbc from a historical, troubleshooting perspective? Is that something I could turn on?

Hi,

No, the connection info is not logged anywhere except sysmaster:syssessions as far as I know. As soon as an user ends session row is deleted from this SMI table. Being pseudo in nature, trigger can not be implemented on this table.

Shriyan

Thanks Shriyan,
You are very proficient and helpful!
