ODBC connection error for Paradox 10

We have been able to connect to Paradox tables through an ODBC connection when they reside on C:\, however when we try to connect to tables on another networked server we get a message saying; can't make connection - General Error. Any suggestions ?

What program are you using?

I take it NOT Paradox 10, since you are using ODBC....

If not Paradox, you might want to ask on a forum for whatever application you are using.

What you need to do is get help from the developers of that application.

We wouldn't have a clue how to get started trying to help you (unless someone here happens to have that same application).

My understanding is that ODBC only works locally on both ends, i.e. you must have an ODBC data source configured on the same machine as the data tables, and you can only access the data source from that machine. I haven't done this much, but that's the only way I've ever gotten it to work.

If your application is accessing a webservice via SOAP/XML, then you have to host the service on that same machine, but of course your web forms or windows app could run on a separate machine.
