Hi All,
I have a front end MSA97 db, that links to a backend data database, also MSA97. When a I deploy a new version of my front end db, I need to do some upgrading to older versions of existing back end db's, specifically, I am changing the autonumber field of a primary key field on one of the back end tables. I have security set on back end db, so Admin can not modify tables defs, only a specific user can.
Question is, does anyone know how to connect to the backend db with a specific user/pw to modify indexes, etc on a remote table? I have to do it from the front end db. I have code to make the mods, but get a "3033 - You do not have permissions to modify the table" error, even though I am trying to pass in a specific user. I was hoping to not use ODBC, since not all of my clients may have the correct odbc drivers. Any suggestions or tips?
Thanks,
LLDevel
