I have a Nortel switch with Octel voice mail. I have an extention that keeps having there message light coming on if they have no mail. What can I look at on Octel?
You must have a mailbox that has the ext number in its profile and it is not the one the users checks. You ca look at the online cdr for event 18 and see if mailbox xxxx is turnning it on for the ext with the problem
Let us know the type of the OCTEL voice mail system before we can give you a proper answer.
The type could be OCTEL 200/300, VMX-100 or OCTEL-250/350 etc.
(This could sound like an OCTEL 200 with SIC-8 integration to your Nortel PBX.)
This is an vp 250 Octel. This has been happening on this phone for some time.
Ive changed the number
changed the tn
changed the house pair
Outed the phone waited 10 minutes and rebuilt
changed out the phone
rebuilt the voice mail
Now I Marped this number on another phone leaving the number on the phone I am having problems with.
Ive had this happen were the light would come on and no message would be on that phone on another Nortel switch and Ameritech got involved to resolve the problem. We do not have a maintaince contract on this Octel or Nortel switch.
We have a Nortel 81c switch Octel vp 250 mail.
How do you get the light to go out? As i said before it must be a mailbox on the system tht has that ext number in the mailbox profile and it is turnning on the light. You should be able to find it with online cdr or if you have mailbox manager you can sort my ext number and find the other mailbox.
