Octel serenade programming MWI question?

I am getting ready to switch out an Octel Serenade and wanted to turn out all the message waiting before going to the new system. Somebody told me I could switch the MWI codes for on vs off and then refresh the lights. Do anybody know how to do this?

At the @-prompt type: MWL RELITE or MWL RECALC.

Which PBX? If your PBX is an MD110, just type ICUPI after having disconnected the data channel serial cable.

The PBX is a Siemens Hicom with station set emulation. I think I have to switch my system parameters 79 with 81 first. I listed them but I'm not sure how to change them.
79 is #*1 and 81 is #*8.

Yes!.
Do a .l sys 79 to 81 and you have your info.
Sys par #79+80 gives the data to send to light up MEW lamps.
Sys par #81+82 gives the data to send to delete the MEW lamps.
Hereafter just do a MWL relite...

I found the MEW data for the Siemens Hicom 300 (GER):
Here are the data for turning ON or OFF the MEW lamps.

79 D##7 L/M LAMP MW: "ON" PRE-EXTENSION DIGITS
80 NONE L/M LAMP MW: "ON" POST-EXTENSION DIGITS
81 D##8 L/M LAMP MW: "OFF" PRE-EXTENSION DIGITS
82 NONE L/M LAMP MW: "OFF" POST-EXTENSION DIGITS

To change the MEW setting to LAMP OFF, just do a .m sys 79, and set it to #*8. Then run the MEW lamp OFF by sending the "MWL RELITE" command from the @-prompt.
