I'm trying to connect to a customer's octel but I have to dial through their VPN to do so and use the 250's IP address, I'm trying to set up Procomm to accomplish this but I'm not having any luck. Anyone know what else I could try? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rod!

Are you sure you are on there network? Are they using a lantronics telnet server hooked to the 250? What port are us using to connect with. I do this all the time and it works fine. Can they connect from inside the network to the Octel?

Post the settings you are using in ProComm and on the telnet server and I will try to help you.

Ken,

I went back and corrected the settings, I was using the wrong port number. I checked my settings with the customer and it worked. Thanks for your help. My next question is how do I turn the service bit or engineering bit on?

What are you needing to do? I would not want to publish that on this web site as it can get someone that does not know the octel into BIG trouble

I need to turn it on while an onsite tech changes out a bad drive. The system has GMR and we need to swap out the drive. I have the procedure for changing the drive I just need to know how to turn the service bit on to complete the process.

Thanks,
Rod~
