Octel Outcall Notification 1

How do you program outcall notification to go to a cell phone instead of pager? I've changed the pager number to cell phone number but it didn't work. Octel voicemail just called the cell phone thinking it is a pager.

Out calling is just a notification not a call forward.

There's no prompt or anything, just dead air. There's no option like Norstar system, it will actually ask you to log in.

Your not calling a pager company that answers and asks you if you would like to leave a message. all the Octel does is dial a number and depending on what you program maybe a * or # or the call back number and then it hangs up.

N* will ask you to log in and so will Meridian Mail, but not Octel

Are you trying to forward a call to a cell phone? if so you need to use callforward key on phone not Octel.

I don't know if you found the answer but, in your profile under the prompt PAGER TYPE put 0 - NO PAGING. When Octel calls my cell phone it allows me to log in by pressing 2 and then my pwd.

You mean you answer your cell phone and than you can talk to the voice mail system?

That's right. After pressing "2" it will reply with "Thank you now enter your password." This will start a session with full mailbox features. (88 to call sender, a good feature if you are on need to get back to someone)
