Help! Having trouble again with networking the octel OV250 using a message networking server to a modular messaging system. The customer does not want to use a steering digit so Avaya advised them to use 0000 to 9999 in the MN server to do a mailbox pull from the octel. In the octel they where told to delete all the prefixes since the MN system would see all off the extensions on the octel. It is not working "SURPRISE"...Also they have no specific ranges in either machine, a mailbox ex.6001 could reside on one octel and 6002 resides on the MM system. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rod~

The message networking system is very complex and i would need more information than what is in the post.

When you say it does not work do you mean none of it does or just some messages are failing?

What if any errors are you getting in the admin log on the MNS?

What software level are you at on the MNS. How many MM systems do you have in the mix.

It can be made to work but you can not have a duplicate number on any of the systems or the prefix or steering digit will need to be used.

It is just like networking an Octel. If you have 2 systems and they both have MB 6000 you can only send to one unless the networking is setup with a prefix of some kind.

There are steps that can be taken to make sure this works but to be honest with you it will be impossible to tell you how to do it over a news group.
