CURRENT SYSTEM INFORMATION

Memory Configuration: G3rV11
Offer Category: A
Octel Aria 03.11.05-1
A call to users ring to VM and instead of getting the personal greeting the caller is receiving "Welcome to Octel Voice Infomation System" If you have a mailbox on this system press #. I dialed all the numbers in the hunt group and have received the correct recordings. Can someone tell me what happened or what to look for?

Thanks in advance

Did you rename the users recently? Octel usually requires the extension in the PBX's station name field. "1234,Joe Smith"

Lopes1211 Thanks for the quick reply. I did not rename anyone. The system has been working properly for months. Then BANG I get this problem I can't re-create. The users don't have their extensions in the name field, never did.
Also the connect between G3 and Octel is mode code. The hunt group member are defined as VMI.

Thanks
ED

Do you know if they are using "alias" mailboxes on the Octel?

When you use them, you can have two different numbers for the same mailbox. Example: 2444 is alias and 444 is the mailbox.
But 2444 is the actual extension. If the alias is removed, there goes the integration and you won't get the personal greeting.

bunkman Thanks for the reply. No the 5 digit extension is the same on both the G3 and the Octel.

Thanks again

You may have done this already, but can you get a print out of the Mode Code info on the Octel and compare it to the switch programming?

-Bunkman

Bunkman: I've pasted it below:
Octel
Digit Sequence for Direct Calls: #00#N##
Digit Sequence for Forward - All Calls: #03##N#
Digit Sequence for Forward - Ring No Answer/Busy:
Digit Sequence for Forward - Ring No Answer: #02#E#N#
Digit Sequence for Forward - Busy:
Number of Digits in Calling Party ID ("E"): 5
Number of Digits in Called Party ID ("N"): 5
PBX
MODE CODES (FROM SWITCH TO VMS)
Direct Inside Access: #00
Direct Dial Access - Trunk: #01
Internal Coverage: #02
External Coverage: #03
Refresh MW Lamp: #06
System In Day Service: #11
System In Night Service: #12
OK I'm stumped
However I am not getting calls of problems but it's a lite work week here.
Thanks

Ed,

Everything seems to be in order...can you tell me if it happens to just one person or is it everybody? And does it happen everytime?

-Bunkman

Bunkman Thanks for your reply. The answer to your question is it is random across all users. I got it once tring to retrive a message. Like I said I am not getting reports of this still happening but it is a lite work week here.

I hope its gone

Sounds like it could be a DTMF timing issue or not enough DTMF receivers in the switch so if so, it may come back when traffic is high.

I guess we'll see next week. Have a happy New Year!
