Octel integration with VG248

We have currently configured a Octel VM system to CCM using VG248 GW and SMDI cabling. We have the MWI working however when we call forward to VM we go into open tree in that Octel does not seem to recognise the extension so does not provide the extensions` greeting. Has anyone came across this, I've used the event logs on the actual VG it shows the call going into the VM and with the correct extension number but no hints on the issue. Usually the open tree is due to the number not being recognise it
