Octel Fan replacement

Would someone know if a shutdown is need to replace the fans on the octel 250? Or can they be replaced with the system on?

The fans can be replaced with the system on.

I have done this acouple of times. You just disconnect the old broken fans and replace them with the new ones.
The costumer did not have any interrrupts in the voice mail service.
