Hi All,

Octel 200/300 Serenade

We have used the "Offsite/Pager Number" feature on a distribution list to notify Emergency Personnel of a casualty at our facility. The setup is that the supervisor calls a Distibution List that hits all of the mailboxs listed. Each mailbox is assigned the offsite phone number and is to dial.

Last week we tested for the first time in a while and only 2 of the 48 mailboxes dialed out. They were in the middle of the list and had no commonality between them.

Any Ideas as to somewhere to start? All have same COS. The last few mailboxes are set with no or "none" in menu option "3" (offsite number)

Thanks,
Dan

Hello

The "Offsite/Pager Number" feature is programmed by adding CSO attribute 28 to the users COS.
The INFO table should have index # 14, 15, 16 and 17 plus 20 changed.
In the users mailbox point 163 should be activated with number to be called.

INFORMATION TABLE 1

1 INTERCEPT MAILBOX NONE
3 CALL BLOCKING NUMBER NONE
4 MAX DIGIT FOR MENU NONE
5 PREFIX DIGS FOR MENU NONE
6 PRE EXTENSION DIGITS NONE
7 RINGS BEFORE NO ANS 20

14 OFFSITE ATTEMPT TIMES 2 (how many times should calls be attempted)
15 OFFSITE SPEAK TIMES 3
16 OFFSITE SPEAK DELAY 5
17 OFFSITE PREFIX DIGITS 0 (prefix for the CO line, maybe this will be 9, in your country. It should be NONE, if no CO line is used)
18 NEXT MAILBOX NONE
19 OFFSITE DIAL SYSP DIGS NO
20 OFFSITE END WITH POUND YES (Used for pagers)
21 FIFO QUEUE MSG MAILBOX NONE

25 QUICK GREETING ACTIV NO
26 AUTOTRANSFER TO ASSIST NO
27 MSG WITH AUTO TRANSFER NO
28 ANNOUNCE CALLS TO INT NO
31 OFFSITE ONLY IF URGENT NO

If this setup is made correctly, the the number of lines between the OCTEL Serenade and the PBX must be considered.
Hope this helps.

Thanx Doktor,

You always have that quick reply!! I have checked that COS and it is correct. As for lines, I believe that there are 16 for that connection. Does this dialer scroll down the mailbox list, or does it try to call out simultaneously? Since it is trying to grab the same outgoing lines as the rest of the plant, I could understand a "tie up". Is there any way to "pause" the sequence after every 5 calls?

Thanx Again

Maybe you can post the printout of the users profile (.l prof).
Also check @L M "mailboxnumber" for each user.
We are using this facility to notify users that they have one message in their mailbox, and the notification is always done through a CO line (public line).
Normally the load is small, so I have not seen problems with this feature.
I would think that the "Offsite/Pager Number" feature takes the mailboxes - one-by-one and uses the lowest number first, the the next number and so on.

I will check for further info tomorrow.

I will post one user and the prof for that COS.

If I need to dial 9 to access the outside and then 1 prior to the area code, can I just type 9ED1 in attribute 17?

Thanx,
Dan

This is the feature for offsite to alternate numbers.

1 Create a mailbox to be the pilot for the Extended Mailboxes that are used to store the alternate numbers.

2 Configure this as in the standard Offsite Pager mailbox with the following attributes:
Att 46 - Use Extended Mailbox For Alternate Offsite Number.
Att 53 - No Delay Between Offsite Calls (optional)

3 Decide how many offsite numbers are to be called. Create a mailbox for each one with the following attributes:
Att 1 - No Messages May Be Recorded
Att 28 - May Use Offsite MWN

4 Create an Extended Mailbox using the mailbox that receives the messages as the Pilot, and the mailboxes containing the alternate offsite numbers as members.

5 Log on to the Pilot Maibox and assign a security code. (alternate numbers will NOT be called if this is not done)

6 Use Update to assign the numbers for each mailbox (pilot and members)
