I'm sure most of us are aware of the date issue expected on 11/24/15:
"On November 24, 2015, the system calendar will reset to January 1, 1984. Systems will be unable to send or receive new
messages and auto attendants, holiday schedule and message date stamps, and other functionality will be impaired."
And, many of us have changed our system date/time to an older year such as 2009 or 1987, to avoid the 11/24/15 problem.

However, my maintenance vendor told me that he has seen Avaya notices about another system problem that will "kill" the system on 11/16/2015, and that the date change we have already done won't make any difference. I have never seen anything from Avaya about an 11/16/15 doomsday problem. I asked the vendor to send me the Avaya notice; but he hasn't yet.

I suspect that he's trying to scare me into migrating to his company's solution immediately (it's not going to work - we're working on implementing our own Cisco system).

Has anyone else heard anything like this? Thanks!

I think your vendor is smoking something that clouds the mind.

If the date on the system is set 11/16/2009 then how would the system know that it was indeed 11/16/2015 ?

The answer is that it can't
