I am trying to TELNET into our OCTEL 250 with little luck. I did see a thread that seemed to give some direction, but I have further questions. I use Mailbox Manager that I currently have connected through a modem connection. Now, I have been asked to connect through our lan. Currently, I have connected with a DB-15 cable to the LAN port on our LAN card, but I think I am going in the wrong direction. Through that connection, I can ping the OCTEL, but cannot TELNET in. The thread I was reading discused using one of the asynch ports on the CCF card that the modem is connected to, configuring it to smt. Once set to smt, do I need to reboot the system to activate this? Fially, is there a specific DB-9 to DB-15 pinout that I would need to follow? Finally, do I need to set a specific port for Mailbox Manager to access? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You need to have a telnet server as the Octel LAN card does not support anything other than it's own native code. We use a UDS 10 or a UDS 100 and cable it to a asynch port on the CCF. You will need a 9 pin male to 25 pin and you may need a null modem depending on the cable. We can set you up with one if you need it.

Thanks for the info. I will move in that direction.
