Hello,

We have an Octel 250 for our office voice messaging service.
I assume that during the weekend there was a power failure
in the building. When I went back in the office the Octel
was trying to boot over and over again. An error message on
the terminnal was indicating that some ICP, or something
like that, was not found. I selected the B option in order
to boot the system. After that the system prompted me to
input the current date and time.

I thought that the voice server is more or less like a computer and it has some battery for the CMOS to keep the
time and date.

I was wondering if this is a case of just replacing that battery. And, if that is the case, could you please tell
me if this is a difficult operation that needs to be done by a technician? I am just IT support for the office and I do not have any experinece in dealing with telecom equipment.

Thank you.

You must boot it with an A and if the power is off for more than 24 hours it will ask for the date and time.
It should then boot fine

Hi Ken,

Thank you for your answer. I did not know about the 24 hours off time. I did a reboot with an A a long time ago when something similar happened with the power in that building. But I cannot remember the exact syntax for this.

You just type A or you have to type something else too?

Thanks
