OCTEL 250 - Adding new extension range.

We are moving employees from one building with a 4 digit dialplan to a building with a 5 digit dialplan. We are adding 1 digit to the 4 digit extension to make things easier on these employees. The PBX takes the extesnion fine becuase the extension were already in our dialplan just never used before. When we go to put these extensions in Octel we get a message stating the extension is being used. When we go to view the extension the Octel states it doesn't exist. Is there something we need to do to let the Octel know we are using a new range of extensions? We don't need to change the extension length because all of our other extensions are already 5-digits. This should be no different than adding a new extension.
 
What are you using for the mailbox length 4 or 5 digits ?

Is the octel networked with a system that may be using the range already? That sounds like what is happing

The mailbox length is 5-digits and the extensions are 5 digits. I'm not aware of anything networked that would be using that range. Shouldn't we be able to see that in the Octel?
 
Actually that helped alot! We hade a node number set up for an old system. Once we took that node out it worked. Thanks for the assistance.
