Here is the output of the ‘@l h’ command on the Octel 200 S. 4

TYPE SLOT CHNL PRIO DATE TIME #BAD DATA1 DATA2 DATA3 DATA4
42 00 70 1 11/20 15:17 50 00000009 00000000 00000004 0000A341
42 00 70 1 11/21 08:27 28 00000009 00000000 00000004 0000A441

According to the Octel Installation and Maintenance Manual, this is a configuration error – bad SDM mailbox.

How do I know which SDM mailbox is bad?
How to find out what exactly is wrong with this mailbox?

Any help will be appreciated.

Yes Sir.
You are right as you write "According to the Octel Installation and Maintenance Manual, this is a configuration error – bad SDM mailbox."
SDM is Single Digit Mailbox, the OCTEL menu facility.

To find out which SDM mailbox is bad, you take the
data of DATA4, i.e. 0000A341
Remove the zero's : A341 and swap the two pairs of numbers to 41A3. A=0, so your extension number will be 4103 (and the other 4104.
From the OCTEL docs this example is given:
A mailbox of 12345678 is converted to 78563412.

What exactly was wrong with these mailboxes?

Sometimes if too many calls enter the same mailbox, I have seen this problem.

doktor,

Thank you for the quick reply, you are always first to help.

The interesting thing is these mailboxes do not exist:

.l u 4103
USERS TABLE:
MAILBOX EXTENSION COS SECURITY NAME
NO MATCH FOUND
.l u 4104
USERS TABLE:
MAILBOX EXTENSION COS SECURITY NAME
NO MATCH FOUND

What would be the next step?

Please list and paste your users if not too many by ".l user ".
///doktor

Or, even better, use the command".l user sd", showoing the users mailboxes connected to SDM.

Other hint look for MB 341 and 441 and 413/414.

The TYPE=42 fault comes up if the calls can't be connected to the group or extension in the SDM because these are busy.
Check also the traffic recording in the PBX.

Jonathan,

@L M A341 doesn't work on my system:

@l m A341
THAT MAILBOX DOES NOT EXIST

@l m a341
THAT MAILBOX DOES NOT EXIST

@l mbx
UNKNOWN TABLE SPECIFIED

doktor, take a look here:

.l u sd
Enter MAILBOX NUMBER.
LST:3002
SINGLE DIGIT MENU TABLE:
MAILBOX MAX DIGITS PREFIX DIGITS
NO MATCH FOUND

I know for sure the mialbox 3002 IS a SDM mailbox.

And below is a portion of the ".l user" list. There are too many mailboxes to list.
I think you want to see if mailboxes 4103 and 4104 are in the system. Trust me, I did not delete them from this extraction :)

MAILBOX EXTENSION COS SECURITY NAME

4010 4 Y
4011 5 Y
4012 5 Y
4101 6100 3 Y
4102 6102 3 N
4105 7 Y
4106 7 Y
4107 7 Y
4108 3 Y
4200 101 Y
4201 102 Y

I appreciate your help.

What else should I do?

The fault type 42 can also indicate a missing mailbox in a SDM system.
If you press 1, I think, the call would be transferred to
4101, pressing 2 would go to 4102.
Like shown below:

MAILBOX EXTENSION COS SECURITY NAME
4101 6100 3 Y
4102 6102 3 N

Maybe 4103 and 4104 are missing, or have been deleted by msitake?
Please post the ".l profile" for COS=3 and for the main mailboxes, that you think are SDM's, likw 3002.

See my thread on the OCTEL Menu facility to get an idea, about how it works...

For Mr. smetse

To find your SDM data I need these printouts:
.l user (all)
.l profile (all)

After this it will be easy to find the SDM box.
///doktor

Hi Smetse
From the info you provided me wth reagrding ".l user (all)
.l profile (all)" I found that

COS for SDM are: 1,2,4,5,13,101-106.

The USER for COS=1 is listed below.

USERS TABLE:
MAILBOX EXTENSION COS SECURITY
4001 1 Y

To see this:

Check .l info (all) or .l profile (all) and search in notepad for the string : "MAX DIGIT FOR MENU".
If it say NONE, no SDM is applied.
If it mentions some digits, an SDM is applied.

See the INFO table 1:

TABLE 1 (MAILBOX INFO)
1. INTERCEPT MAILBOX 7777
4. MAX DIGIT FOR MENU 8 Number of choices in the SDM (here press 1-8)
5. PREFIX DIGS FOR MENU 410 Extension numbers for this SDM are 4101 to 4108.

Explanation:

INFO table 1 is linked to the COS=1 (See .l profile for COS=1),
so if a caller calls the mailbox 4001 (that has COS=1) with the welcome message for this SDM is heard, and the caller has a choice of pressing 1 to 8.

If the user presses 1 the call goes to extension 4101.
If the user presses 2 the call goes to extension 4102.
If the user presses 3 the call goes to extension 4103.
If the user presses 4 the call goes to extension 4104.
If the user presses 5 the call goes to extension 4105.
If the user presses 6 the call goes to extension 4106.
If the user presses 7 the call goes to extension 4107.
If the user presses 8 the call goes to extension 4108.

Best regards
