Hi,

I'm not quite sure if it's really an Octel 200, but from what I've read here, it seems like it. The system is running SYSTEM SOFTWARE RELEASE S.4.1.1-2. I'm looking for help on how to record a greeting for a system distribution list.

Thanks in advance!

You are right, it is an OCTEL 200.
If you want to record a greeting for a mailbox, do this:
Call the group hunt number for the OCTEL.
Login by pressing # + mailbox number + password.
Record the greeting by entering 4+6 "Recording" and press # to end recording.
Check your recording by 4+5.
Logout by pressing 9+9+9.

Simple and easy, and it works.

If people are making messages and addressing them to a system distribution list then I think you will need to record the name for the SDL mailbox as well. Login to the SDL and then press 1 6 and then 8 to record a name (assuming the COS of the SDL mailbox has the attribute to record names). You could also record the name from a mailbox that has attribute 10 in the COS by using the 1 1 7 command.

Thank you gentlement.

My issue was that I was using a COS which would not allow me to record the spoken name for the mailbox. Once I changed the COS I was able to record the name and then recreate the SDL. Once the SDL was recreated, I could change the COS back to the desired one.

Thanks for all your help!

Cheers!
