i have an old octel, with existing extension numbers in the 2xxx range. i have built a new mail box 2000, extension 2000, cos 3. i have recorded name and gretings. when i dial into A/A and get the main greeting, dial 2000, it goes directly into the mb2000 greeting. the extension can be called directly from a phone and does not have forwarding set up. any ideas?

The trace shows that the system is trying to transfer to 2000 and that the Status is Fast Busy. You say that other extensions can dial 2000 directly, though. I would use a test set and get on Port 1 and try to call extension 2000 and see what happens. If you really do get a fast busy then the problem points more to the PBX. Maybe the voicemail port is restricted from calling 2000 in some way (the COR if it is an Avaya PBX). If the phone rings and you can talk to 2000 then maybe the ring cadence application delays aren't set correctly in the voicemail??
Either way I would still do some test calls and monitor the transfers with the test set to see if this will give you any clues.

thats correct, i can call x2000 from other phones. thanks for the info Joe, i'll be out there tomorrow and will test some more
