Octel 100 vs. Octel 250

My office has about 500 employees and an Octel 250. We are opening another office in California with about 12 employees. My boss wants an Octel 250 there as well. I do not know very much about Octels but I am fairly certain a 250 is not necessary for 12 people. Am I correct? would it be better to purchase an Octel 100? I appreciate your assistance.

You are comparing apples to oranges here. An Octel 250 can be for as many poeple as you like, although a bit pricey for 12 people. An Octel 100 is certainly designed more for the under 100 station switch, but is very different in application and use than a 250. Without going into great detail, I would recemmend staying with the 250 and standardizing as supporting that site will become increasingly easier. But, I can't spend your money for you.

If you are having the Cali phone system connect to the 500 people system, you may not need a new voicemail. Just house the 12 people at the 500 site. A T1 between the 2 systems would make things a lot easer.
