Hi,
I just got an "old" Octane (R12K, Irix 6.5) without monitor. I connected my 21"O2-monitor via a Octane->VGA cable and on boot-up everything is fine for the Maintenance-Screen, and I even get into the PROM-Monitor and so on. But Starting the System the screen gets black and the screen seems to try to display a resolution which it is not able to. It seems that as soon as the x-server is starting the screen can't cope with the resolution (as I am able see the startup-info like disk-mounting and so on). The same thing happens with a 19" VGA monitor as well.
Is there a key-shortcut to set the x-server resolution to a safe-resolution (like the one in the Maintenace-Mode) ?
I tried restart the x-server with Shift-Crtl-F12-/ but with no effect.
Is there a key-shortcut to stop the x-server or switch it to a text-console (like in linux) ?
Thanks
J.
