I've been working in IT for 18 years. I have my project manager certification PMI-PMP, a BS in Management and a Masters in Telecommunications Management. I want to become a DBA but I do not really have any experience other than developing some Access databases. I found the below provider of Oracle training that says that by going through their training courses you can gain experience by working with a live database. Here is the link to the site.
Below is a statement from their web site. Could some of you check this out and let me know if it sounds like sometime that might be worthwile for me. Thanks!!!
Forget other vendors' training courses, which only provide a SQL*Plus interface, a database "simulator", or other such nonsense. No other self-study Oracle training vendor provides you with hands-on practice working with a live database. Our hands-on courses are designed to gain maximum retention of the technology subjects, get hands-on experience working with a live copy of the Oracle database, and understand how to work with the Oracle database on different operating systems (including Microsoft Windows, Unix, and Linux).
