Object tag with javascript

Hi all, I have an object tag for and install program. I would like the users to fill out a from before they are able to start the download. If it is possible, when the user click the object tag to start the download, I would like a from to pop up for them to fill out first then click the submit button (after filling the required info, and the download starts.

is it possible to have javascript onclick or onsubmit work with the <object> tag
