Excel 2010 Pro
Windows 7, 64 bit system

I am using additional controls from both the mscomct2.ocx and MSCOMCTL.ocx control libraries on my forms (DateTimePicker, ListView, etc). All of the controls are functioning properly on the forms. However, every time I try to open either of the two control libraries in the object browser, Excel crashes with the following message: "Excel has stopped working."

I have tried changing the referenced ocx file between system32\mscomct2.ocx and sysWOW64\mscomct2.ocx (or MSCOMCTL.ocx). Both have the same result reference locations give the same result.

The other libraries, stdole, VBA, MSForms, etc. open without problem in the object browser. MSCAL.ocx (for the calendar control) also opens without problems.

Anyone have an idea what is going on?

Whoa! That is weird. Nope, sorry I have no idea.

I'm not sure if it is Excel 2010, Windows 7, or due to switching to a 64 bit system, but this change has been complete and utter HELL.

Reading this, and your other post...maybe I will stick with what I have. It works. I think I will put off "upgrading" to 64-bit and Win7.

Och ammmmm, I think I need a shave.

Ya, I changed all three at the same time so it's hard to tell where the problem is, although I suspect it is with the new 64 bit system. I wish I could find another person with Excel 2010 and a 32 bit system so I could compare problems.
