OBDC SQL errors

I have an application running on a SQL2000 database. A number of clients are connecting to this using ODBC 2.7 drivers. However I have a windows 95 machine which is giving errors: "Unable to connect to database. information: Connectivity error:[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver] Timeout expired".
I don't know if the version of ODBC I am running is not compatible with window 95 and how to remove it.

This error is mainly to do with either the login time out value specified is very small for the time it takes for the driver to get connected or the server not being up or the virtual circuit is broken.
