Hello. We have Server 2003 running on a Dell 6650. A user hard booted the server and when it came up the application that they use will not run. When they try to start the application a error is generated:

error -2147467259
Data Source name not found, no default driver specified.
error reported by Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers.
Topic ID: 100040

In the control panel, under admistrative tools, there is a shortcut to Data Sources (ODBC). Now when I open data sources, under the File DSN tab I go to click ADD. When I click add on a perfectly good box there is a list of about 20 drivers to pick from. When I do this on the Server that was hard booted, the list is totally empty. Has anyone ran into this issue before, and if so, what did you do to fix it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks much...

ODBC is basically the middle man where connecting a front-end application to a back-end database. This question is difficult for anyone to answer without having more information relating to the actual application you're opening and it's equivalent data repository type. In most cases if it is well-designed application it will have it's own odbc manager, look for anything like this in the program menu.
