OAI anybody? Mine keeps freezing up 1-2 times a week

Hi, I just inherited a ICS 2400, with an OAI computer. This is running some custom apps developed by the previous PBX admin. Now that I'm here I face the following problem:

Every night, the OAI computer checks for a USB dongle (key) and if it can't find it, it would stop running these apps. About 1-2 times a week, it fails to find it when it checks, so when I come in in the morning, I have to get it to re-check until it actually "finds" the dongle and willing to run these apps... Apprently it has always been a problem, not just when I took over. Also, another computer were used for OAI but that also had this problem.

Any idea why is that and how to fix it?

Sounds like your predecessor left a bomb in his software. Did he part on good terms because if he wrote the routines, my guess is he will be the one you will have to pay to fix them. Either that or pay some other expert to fathom it out and then see if you have a case against him.

I just talked to my predecessor. He said the computer he used before this one actually didn't have this problem. But it had other problems which is why he put this one in. He suggested using a brand new computer and most likely the problems will all be resolved.

So I think I'm fine.
