I am attempting to print from a Win98/SE computer to the printer connected to an XP machine. I am unable to see the printer even though it is shared.
When I look in network neighborhood on the 98 machine for the XP machine I can see its identification but upon clicking its icon the message comes up, "<XPname>not accessible. This device does not exist on the network."
Any thoughts as to what is going on?
Initially I had a connection from an XP machine to the Xp machine and it printed fine. After swapping them I can no longer get the connection to the XP machine.

Thanks

Are they in the same workgroup? As I recall, Win XP Pro will generate a disk to set up a Win 98SE machine. Have you done this?

Thanks kiddpete,

They are in the same workgroup. I have another 98SE that is able to connect to the XP box and print. The 98SE machine that is in question is able to connect to other XP machines and able to take advantage of their printers.
