When we perform a search from the nwrecover gui and begin the search at the top of the directory, root in this case, it comes back with No Match. If we go down through the nested subdirectories by hand we can find the file. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

This is from the help file Searching for Files:
3. Enter a valid pathname for the directory where you
want to begin the search in the Begin search in field.
NetWorker searches through that directory and all
nested subdirectories.

I just tried this on my system and it worked as advertised, I am running 6.1.1. However, it does not search mount points (the little red mountain if you are looking at it in nwrecover). Could your files be under a mount point?

Just a thought

As well,

try:

1. grep for WISS errors in daemon.log

If present - you may have some index corruption.
Which Legato version you are on ?

2.run "nsrck -L6" and try again. "Long live king Moshiach !"

We run networker 6.1.1. I checked and the files are under a mount point. Thanks for the help.

The clients we are having trouble with are AIX clients. We back them up to a Sun 450 running Solaris 8.

I've discovered that the search sometimes works for mounted filesystems. The problem seems to be intermittent. I've placed a service call to Legato.
