subject - 386, 33mhz; 320mb scsi harddrive; 1.2mb floppy.
problem - data on hardrive (database), boots from
floppy, MSDos5.0, novell 3.11. The boot disk is corrupt
and no one in the company has made a copy in years. How
do I get my data off the scsi drive. I cant find the manuals and the sysadm has skedaddled. Any help would
be appreciated.

Maybe you know of someone else that is running a NetWare v3.11 network, or used to... and still has their original disks. You should be able to get a copy of SERVER.EXE from those originals, but you will still need to load the SCSI Drivers for the SCSI controller that is installed. Once you have done that, you should be able to at least bring the server up without an AUTOEXEC.NCF AND STARTUP.NCF. Give it a name and see if you can access the Volumes.

Good Luck.

It took a little time and I had to also use
burglar. The last IT in residence I guess
left on a sour note, (deleted passwords).
I got my data and I learned something in the
process. Tek tips is the best technical site
on the web I think.

Thanks all of you for all the help.
