I have a item in my msconfig startup list with no name.
But I found it in the regestry as NWEReboot. I have done a lot of searching on this and I think it is put there by Nero. But It could be another program. I think it deleates temp files after a reboot after installing something. It has no path to any executible file. In fact it has no path at all. Any one know about this. Is it safe to remove from regestry

Search for the file.
Right-click on it, Properties
click the Version tab.
Now click on each aspect of the Version -- who wrote this, when, and hopefully you can guess why.

If all the entries are blank, I would clean the registry of any instance and delete the file itself.

Or, if you have not done so recently, scan your system for malware: faq608-4650

This problem started when I did a clean install on a new drive. Since it was so fresh, and it was bugging the crap out of me, I went ahead and reinstalled. So far the entry has not shown up. The only program I have not installed yet is Nero, and my Epson printer drivers and software from Epson.

I figured I might as well do the research since this issue seems to be so undocumentd. Ill report back one more time after this.

Well Ok here is the Lowdown. It is the Epson Printer driver that adds the entry. I had downloaded the latest version from the Epson website. I have now deleated that and installed the driver from the disc that came with the printer. I am not sure if that version had tat key but I unchecked it in MSCONFIG and it did not get rechecked. Also the registry entries did not get removed when I did the uninstall so now it has a double entry for the other key it adds which is a legitamate file that monitors the print spool. I also have other issues with this printer but I will start a new thread. All in All I dont recomend the Epson R-300 photo printer. I used to like epson but I dont know now. It is things like this that turn me off as a consumer that knows a little bit about what he is doing......
