NW6.14 mountproblems on tru64 storagenode

Hi there

I have a true64 storagenode with legato 6.14.
Sometimes when it should mount a volume it fails.
I can also reproduce the by manually mounting with the autochanger interface of nwadmin:
Then I got a popup message "RPC …." and the daemon.log shows:

12/21/04 09:13:57 nsrd: write completion notice: Writing to volume DGX060 complete
12/21/04 09:14:23 nsrd: mm_init: UDP connect to mmd_host mpprocl1 failed
12/21/04 09:14:23 nsrd: Jukebox 'ESL30' failed: RPC connect to nsrmmd failed

There is no firewall between the to servers!

The NW server monitors all devices (local and remote). For this purpose the listener must be up and running

Have you started the listener (nsrexecd) at the storage node?

yes, the daemon works.
It is an intermittend problem.
I can mount a voulume 2-3 time without problem.
The next time I have communicationproblems with the client.
And the volume gets stuck!

I do not think that it is anything else but a general communication problem. Of course you may increase the monitor/timeout interval (set for the server resource) but this will most likely only hide the problem.
