Hi!

Trying to add space to an existing volume under NW5.1 SP6
Some (only 1 segment) of the partition has already been assigned to a volume but after adding, I get to "Save changes to volume", choose Yes and get the error-

An attempt to expand the mounted volume tables failed. Error code 1. (nwconfig-5-34)

Tried novell.com & google (!) with no success. Any ideas folks?

Here's a blurb from novell... It said OES, but it should apply to Netware 5.1 as well.

However, are you spanning to another drive? I wouldn't recommend this. Only increase the size if it's on the same physical media or array.

----------------

NWCONFIG-X-34: An attempt to expand the mounted volume tables failed. Error code: (Variable:)code .

NWCONFIG.NLM
Explain: NWCONFIG could not write to the disk or allocate memory to expand the volume FAT and directory tables.

Action: Increase the memory available to the server. See "Freeing Server Memory Temporarily" in the Server Operating System for NetWare Administration Guide for OES. For information about a specific error code, search the Error Codes online documentation.

The other detail I guess I forgot to mention (ok - I missed) was the part where Current Service Processes=Max Service Processes. All fixed after a quick reboot.

As usual, Marvin's on the nail!
