Hi there,

I have a problem. We re-installed our NW 7.2 server to 7.3 (Clean install)on our Windows 2000 server. Now I want to restore data from older tapes and have problems scanning tapes. The client I want to recover from is also the NW server. I still have the complete older 7.2 Networker database files on a separate disk.

- How can I obtain the old client-id?
- How can I restore the older data?

Thnx. W

Does anyone know where I can set the automatic tape unmount option for NW 7.3?

Look at the index backups/save sets. The number you see here is the client id.

You can also query the old db.

Just run "mminfo -av | findstr index" for one of your client's index backups. You will also see the save set ID (ssid).

Then query the media index as follows:
mminfo -q "ssid=your_ssid" -r "clientid"
